Cute but… I’ve had these for about six months and have been wearing them pretty regularly trying to break them in. They are great for my heel spurs, but the seams on the toe box hit right at my little toes and cause them to bleed every time I wear them - and I have narrow feet! I’ve resorted to wearing adhesive bandages on both little toes. I’m surprised that they haven’t broken in yet, but the leather is very hard and stiff in that area, so my next step is taking them to the cobbler to see if they can do something about it. If it weren’t for that, they would be perfect :(.

Very comfortable - These shoes are great, my only complaint being that they make a loud smacking noise when you walk if you’re not wearing socks, like flip-flops. The rubber sole also makes an incredible racket on linoleum, as I found out while waiting for an oil change the other day. Apart from that, they feel great and don’t need a breaking-in period. Super comfy- doesn’t feel like it has a high heel - I love how these shoes feel on my foot, plus they give me a couple of extra inches without feeling like I’m wearing heels. I am a teacher, and these shoes are comfortable enough to stand in all day. The style is a bit 1970’s.

Margrete - I love this shoe–clog-sturdy but open enough to wear in summer. Actually works better with socks than you’d expect, too. Personally, I do not recommend sizing down a half size with this open-backed shoe, as the site suggests; I did and it was much too small. But there was no problem with exchanging them for the next size up, and now they fit perfectly. (I’m normally a 7 1/2; the 38 fits but the 37 is too small).

My Staple - I bought these as my basic shoe for a trip to Paris. I wore them everyday, with no problem. Not one blister and we walked for miles. I got the black and they went with everything. I got the 38 and I wear a US 7 1/2. I have a little wiggle room, which I prefer. Jolette Sandals

A staple of any wardrobe - I plan to never be without a pair of Margrete’s again in my life. This was literally the only pair of shoes I could wear last summer when I was having trouble with an ongoing pain in my right foot. Since the last pair of Margrete’s I bought in this brown, they’ve changed the color of the sole, so it’s a bit lighter than I would like, but overall, this is still a great shoe.
